At McFarlane Accounting Solutions we are committed to team building, and training through experience and professional education. Our goal is to develop our team into the professional group that will provide the kind of service and solutions in accounting and business that we believe our clients deserve.

MASCO is a professional accounting firm located in the Central Interior of British Columbia. Our main office is conveniently situated in the heart of downtown Vanderhoof (the geographical centre of BC), in the Co-op Mall.

Ben McFarlane also maintains an office in his home which is located in Prince George (BC’s Gateway to the North), located 100 km east of Vanderhoof.

The staff and associates of MASCO have been in the accounting, systems analysis, and software implementation/training business for the past thirty years.

Ben McFarlane, AAT, CMA

Ben graduated from Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1977, with a double major in Accounting and Marketing. He began his career in public accounting at a firm in Quesnel, BC. Then Ben decided to seek his fortune in heavy construction and worked as a Project Accountant and Contract Administrator on several projects in northern BC which were all valued in excess of $300 million each.

Subsequent to that, Ben joined McDermids and Lofting, a well known logging contractor and property management company, as their Controller. This rounded out his experience in industry, as well as providing him with an in-depth exposure to logging, contracting, and auditing, as well as cyclic accounting reporting. During this time Ben achieved his AAT designation. After retirement of the McDermids and Lofting shareholders, Ben moved into consulting and systems development. During this time Ben achieved his CMA designation. In 2003 the opportunity presented itself for re-entry into the public accounting domain. At this time Ben entered the business of E&E Accounting, which is now McFarlane Accounting Solutions in Vanderhoof. When not gardening in the summertime, you will find Ben riding his mountain bike or hiking in the many trails available around Prince George, with his wife.

Lynn

After graduating from Prince George Secondary School, Lynn relocated to calgary where she attended the Academy of Learning. This is where she achieved with honors, a diloma in office administration. Her first opportunity came when she was hired at McFarlane Accounting with the understanding that her employment would last only as long as the busy tax season. After long hours and dedication, Lynn has proved to be an asset to the McFarlane team.

Because things move quickly in the world of Accounting, Lynn has been offered a position where we can begin to help her achieve her long term career goals. When not in the office Lynn enjoys spending time with her family camping, fishing and basking in the sunshine.
